Welcome to Surry County
Welcome to the official government website of Surry County, North Carolina, originally chartered in 1771. Surry County is located in northwest North Carolina and is a part of the region known as the Piedmont Triad. The county is unique in that its topography includes portions of the Piedmont, Foothills, and the Blue Ridge Mountains and is home to four pristine waterways including the Yadkin River. Surry County is home to the municipalities of Dobson, Elkin, Mount Airy, and Pilot Mountain. Over 73,000 people reside in Surry which has a diverse economy with concentrations in agriculture, automotive, advanced manufacturing, and metal fabrication. Non-emergency offices are open to the public Monday thru Friday from 8:15 a.m.-5:00 p.m, with the exception of major holidays. The Board of Commissioners typically meet on the first and third Mondays of the month, with some exceptions.

Surry County Board of Commissioners MeetingThe Surry County Board of Commissioners Meeting scheduled for Monday, February 16, 2015 - 6:00 P.M. has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The next scheduled meeting is February 27, 2015 - 8:00 A.M. Raven Knob Boy Scout Camp for a Board Retreat. The meetings in March are as Follows:
