Inspections

Inspections are necessary to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Surry County's citizens, and to help assure that construction meets required standards. North Carolina State Law requires that Surry County enforce the following inspections:

  • Building Inspection. To insure that construction is done in a technically adequate manner and that it meets State Building Code standards.
  • Electrical Inspection. To insure that work is done by licensed electricians and that it meets the National Electrical Code.
  • Plumbing Inspection. To insure that work is done by licensed plumbers and that it meets State Building Code standards.
  • Heating and Air Conditioning Inspection. To insure that all work is done by properly licensed technicians and that work meets State Building Code standards.
