Easter Egg Hunt Cancelled

The Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for Saturday, March 28 at Fisher River Park has been cancelled due to the State Department of Health and Human Services’ recommendation on mass gatherings. The State Department of Health and Human Services recommends that organizers of events that draw more than 100 people cancel, postpone or modify these events, or offer online streaming services beginning March 13, 2020. The egg hunt is overseen by Surry County Parks & Recreation.

Surry County plans to hold Board of County Commissioners meetings as scheduled, as required by the North Carolina General Statutes, but staff is in the process of evaluating other County-related mass gatherings for possible cancellation or postponement. Press releases will be sent out when decisions are made about other events.
