Advertisement for Bids - Laurel Springs Church Road Gravity Sewer Extension
Construction includes approximately 5,000 lf of 8" gravity sewer line, manholes, and related improvements.
The Surry County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. The Board will reject any bid received after the designated bid closing time.
Prospective bidders are hereby notified that they must have proper license under the state laws governing their trade. General contractors are notified that Chapter 87, Article 1, General Statutes of North Carolina will be observed in receiving and awarding this contract.
A separate performance bond and payment bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price will be required. A Performance and Indemnity Bond (North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) –Highway Encroachment Installation) shall be executed by the Contractor. Carriers must be authorized to do business in North Carolina.
All Bidders shall comply with the requirements of North Carolina General Statute 143-128.2. The low Bidder shall provide documentation of compliance. Bidders must comply with the provisions of the N. C. Contractor's Licensing Act of 1925, as amended.
The Board reserves the right to reject any bid for failure to comply with all bidding requirements or of any of the Contract Documents; however, it may waive any minor defects or informalities at its discretion. The Board further reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or to award the Contract which in its judgment is in the best interest of the Board.

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the office of The Lane Group, located at 119 North Main Street, Galax, Virginia, (276) 236-4588, e-mail email@example.com, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of $120.00 per set plus shipping charges, if incurred. Partial sets will not be issued. A CD containing PDF files of the Contract Documents can be obtained for a non-refundable fee of $50.00. The County will not be responsible for full or partial sets of contract documents, including any addendum, obtained from any other source.
Five percent (5%) bid deposit is required and must be sealed in a separate envelope and attached to the outside of the envelope containing the proposal.
There will be no Pre-Bid Conference for this project.
