To get started, all a Veteran needs to do is visit their local Veteran's Affairs office to obtain a verification form and bring in their DD214 form along with a valid photo ID. Veterans who already have their DD214 recorded with the Surry County Register of Deeds need only bring a valid photo ID in order to receive a Veterans Discount ID card. Simply present the Veterans Discount ID card to participating merchants to receive the discount. A list of participating merchants can be found by scrolling to the bottom of the Register of Deeds homepage and placing your curser over the option that reads "Thank A Veteran Discount Program." An option will appear to the right under the heading "Merchant List." Simply click "Merchant List" to view participating businesses along with addresses, discounts, and/or exclusions.
Cards will be issued Monday-Friday 9:00am - 4:30pm.
Disclaimer: The Surry County Veterans Discount Card is issued for the sole purpose of receiving discounts from participating local merchants. It is not a valid photo ID for determining actual identity or residency. It is NOT issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It does not entitle the holder to VA benefits.
ATTENTION ALL MERCHANTS!
If you have not yet signed up with us, we would like to invite you to join the list of merchants who are already showing their appreciation for our Veterans. In return, your business will be advertised on our website FREE OF CHARGE. You will also be given a sign to display in your business showing your customers and our Veterans that you are a participant. You can find the application you will need to complete on the Register of Deeds homepage. An option will appear to the right under the heading "Business Discount Application." Choose this option to view and print the application.
