SIDS/Grief Counseling provides a counseling and support network to Surry County families who suffer the loss of a child due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). SIDS counseling is offered to help families work through their loss and grief, and to provide information on SIDS, the grief process, and community resources.
SIDS counselors are available for autopsy review and responsible for sending data to Raleigh for statistical review. They also provide community education through presentations to groups, health fairs, etc. They are also available for provide grief counseling to any family who has lost a child whether SIDS, miscarriage, or stillborn.
