The duty of the Collections Office is to collect all property taxes.  The Collections Office is charged with collecting taxes on personal property, real property, and business property. Various licenses and permits are issued and collected through the Collections Office.  N.C. Similarly, the authority to use the enforced collection remedies of levy, garnishment, and foreclosure and to advertise tax liens are confirmed by statue and exist by virtue of the office of the Tax Collector.
