Surry County Natural
Resources Committee is a vehicle for sharing ideas, learning
what other groups and agencies are doing, and provides a format
for discussion of issues and concerns enabling the group to put
forth recommendations. The committee was established in
October 1991 by the Surry County Board of Commissioners to
assess the state of our county's natural resources and to make
recommendations about their wise use. We study issues
relating to our county's natural environment, undertake
projects, share information, and report to the Surry County
Commissioners. We originated the Surry County
Environmental Policy.
We also serve as the
advisory committee for the Surry County Solid Waste Plan and the Surry
County Land Use Plan. |
