This department works with the Surry County Tourism Development Authority in the development of the necessary infrastructure that will foster the development and expansion of businesses that cater to visitors and the traveling public. Marketing our community is a key function of our department which strives to increase awareness and visitor spending. Increased visitor spending in our community is a key factor in driving new job creation in the tourism sector of our economy. Surry County is located within The Cascade Highlands of North Carolina and Virginia.
